Can I use this brush on wet hair?
We recommend using this brush on dry or mostly dry hair. Boar bristles work best at distributing natural oils and adding shine when hair is dry. For wet hair, our combs make the perfect tool!
What makes boar bristles better than synthetic bristles?
Boar bristles are uniquely structured to mimic your hair's natural texture. They glide through your hair smoothly, picking up and redistributing your scalp's natural oils from root to tip — adding shine, reducing frizz, and improving hair health over time. Synthetic bristles simply can't replicate this effect.
How often should I use the brush?
For best results, brush your hair once or twice a day. Regular use helps stimulate the scalp, distribute natural oils evenly, and keep hair looking smooth and healthy. Even a few minutes each day makes a noticeable difference over time.
How do I clean my Laffréy brush?
Remove hair from the bristles after each use. For a deeper clean, dip just the bristles (not the wood handle) in warm water with a drop of gentle shampoo. Work out any build-up with your fingers, rinse carefully, then lay the brush flat to dry with bristles facing down. Avoid soaking the beechwood handle as this can cause warping over time.
Is the brush vegan and cruelty-free?
Laffréy is committed to ethical sourcing and sustainability. Our boar bristles are ethically sourced, the nylon pins are biodegradable, and the cushion is made from plant-based vegetale material. While boar bristles are an animal by-product, they are collected humanely without harm. The brush is free from silicones and harsh synthetics, and is certified vegan and cruelty-free.
